Sumangalam is a unique collective of lady-priests, offering services for various occasions such as Weddings Marriage Anniversaries, Seniors’ Birthdays, Annaprasana (First-rice) ceremonies, House-warmings, and Rituals for the Departed Souls. Ceremonies are distinctively conducted with a blend of traditional Vedic mantras and live renditions of Rabindrasangeet and Brahmasangeet , performed by eminent artistes. Sumangalam takes a progressive approach to traditional wedding rituals and takes pride in abstaining from the traditional ‘Kanyadaan’ during wedding rituals with the belief that a daughter should never be seen as a commodity to be given away. Instead, the focus remains on creating a deeply meaningful and inclusive ceremony where all participants can feel spiritually connected. To ensure that everyone understands and appreciates the rituals, Vedic mantras are translated into Bengali, English, and Hindi, tailored to the preferences of the patrons.
